The problem

When we took on ASB taskTracker, we inherited more than code — a fragile, brittle monolithic system, ad hoc infrastructure, unclear ownership, duplicated logic, and severe scaling bottlenecks. Golf course operators were coordinating labor, equipment, and maintenance the way they’d always been — radios, paper logs, and guesswork about where crews and equipment actually were. What we found was not a mature product, but a ticking time bomb ready to slow growth.

What we did

We didn’t start with a rewrite — we started with an honest architecture and infrastructure review to understand exactly what was fragile and why. From there, we modularized the system incrementally: report dashboards with real-time expense and labor tracking, equipment detail views with maintenance logs and fuel records, and mobile-friendly task logs crews could use in the field with gloves on. Infrastructure and deployment practices were rebuilt alongside the product, so shipping fixes stopped being something the team was afraid to do.

The result

ASB taskTracker was acquired in a $20M deal within our first year of engagement — the clearest evidence we have that the systems we build aren’t just functional, they hold real market value. Founder Jaime Sharp came back to SYANEX for a second product after this one. That kind of repeat trust, on top of the acquisition itself, is the outcome we optimize for.
